Re-Elect Jeff Gadman as
Thurston County Treasurer
Thurston County Treasurer
Working for your Trust
I was appointed Treasurer by a unanimous vote of the County Commissioners on February 17, 2017 and elected by the voters of Thurston County to retain the position in November. Since my appointment, I have been working hard to retain your trust in Thurston County’s financial management and customer service.
As the cash and investment manager for Thurston County, I realize it is imperative for you to have confidence the Treasurer’s Office is safeguarding the money you have worked hard for and you ultimately have to pay in property taxes to support the essential services you enjoy and expect on a daily basis.
The major responsibilities of the County Treasurer can be summarized in the following areas:
- Receipting and accounting of revenue
- Collection of taxes
- Disbursement of funds
- Cash management
- Debt management
- Investment Portfolio management
I am committed to ensuring that my staff and I will serve all taxpayers in Thurston County with compassion, with dignity, and with respect.
I have been a public servant for over 30 years, and believe public service is a noble calling.
I ask for your support and your vote to continue as Thurston County Treasurer.
If you have questions or would like to meet with me, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Jeff Gadman

About Me
Treasurer, councilmember, public servant
I have dedicated my life to public service, serving as your Thurston County Treasurer since early 2017, as a Lacey City Council member over 6 years, public employee over 30 years and numerous volunteer efforts in the community.
I began my public service career in the Thurston County Assessor’s Office in 1986. During my tenure, I built relationships with property owners, developers, and local government officials. These relationships have taught me the importance of dealing with people with compassion, dignity, and respect. My experience in the office taught me the effects, good and bad, of policy decisions by government officials.
I am proud of my 24 years as a union member in AFSCME local 618. I served 10 years as shop steward, 5 years on the executive board, and finally, as Chapter Chair of local 618-CO.
During my six years on the city council, I used my understanding of the effects of governmental policy as a guide to my decision making. Council decisions affect the daily lives of all our citizens, and I never forgot that while serving on the council.
I have been a Democrat for a long time, and fully support the democratic mission of helping each other build a stronger community. I have helped many campaigns at the local, state, and congressional levels with donations of my time, labor, and money.
I currently serve on the Board of Regents for Leadership Thurston and Board of Directors for the Thurston County Food Bank. I am also a member of Gateway Rotary. In addition, I have raised funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Together!, Safeplace, Homes First, United Way, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County, among others. I was a youth soccer coach for 12 years (class F license), and have volunteered at PTA (serving as president), the North Thurston Citizens Curriculum Advisory Committee, and the North Thurston Citizens Financial Advisory Committee.
I currently live in Lacey with my wife of 37 years, Meren. We raised our children here and are proud to call this community home.
I would be honored to have your vote.
